Beeswax Coil Candle

Coil Candles made with Beeswax are Unique and Interesting as well as Useful with Very Long Burn Times

If you think you are familiar with every type of candle, think again. A very unusual candle is available on the market with a very unique concept.

Coiled Beeswax Candles

Beeswax coil candles are not like rolled beeswax candles where a flat sheet of beeswax is rolled to form a taper or pillar shaped candle shape. Coil candles are made from a very long and thin beeswax candle, often many feet long, which is shaped into a circle and then the layers are coiled on top of each other.

A metal device, which extends from a rod originating at the center of the holder, holds the thin candle near the top. The device holds the top section of candle with your desired length protruding from on top. As the candle burns down, you can adjust and pull more of the thin candle above the metal device, effectively uncoiling the candle as it burns.

As you can imagine, a candle that is multiple feet long will have many, many hours of burn time. The coil candles are usually sold according to burn time. You can generally find ones ranging from 48 hours to 144 hours. Once the wax is used up, refills of coils are also available.

An interesting feature of coil style beeswax candles is a self-extinguishing element. When the lit candle burns down to the metal support, it is designed to put the flame out. This is an important feature because unlike votive candles or jar candles, these have no container to house the wax and flame. The candle will stay lit according to the length of the candle pulled above the holding support.

Not only does a beeswax coil candle provide hours of burn time, its looks are unique. It may become a conversation piece for many of your guests for years to come.
